Learning experience outside the classroom.
It is actually learning outside the classroom or going somewhere to learn something also we can call as field trip. We went to Taa Dzong which is in Paro to learn about the Dzong and we grade 7 went in the bus with the life science teacher.
We moved early from our school and went in the bus. Our journey to Taa Dzong was very fun as we enjoyed a lot in the bus shouting and singing songs. We were very excited to visit the Dzong and actually the Dzong was very big as we thought of. We finally reached at our destiny and when we arrived, we directly looked at the Dzong it was built in a way of aesthetic in circular shape. But before going in the Taa Dzong, we went in the museum to see inside the things which is preserved now.
Before we went and visit the things in the museum there was a lady who talked about the rules, do and don'ts while visiting the museum and she also talked about the importance of preserving the past things and why we should preserve our culture and the past things. Her name was Karma Deki and she was very good at speaking and explaining.
It was my first time at museum, and it was really nice that I ever seen before. There were many things preserved from the past. They were many collections of beautiful and colorful butterflies, birds, incense stick powder which was used in the past. Also, there was tigers' skin, head of the takin, which is rare nowadays, there were river system made and kept in the glass and there was real leopard preserved by the museum people.
After that we finally went at our main destiny at Taa Dzong, and we went inside. There were past things like baskets which was used to carry the loads in the past. There were also small and thin baskets which was used to keep the alcohol bottle inside and, in the past, they used to carry that basket with them wherever they go. The most important thing in that dzong was there was past kings crown and his majesties "Gho "which is called namza in Dzongkha. There were also the trees and branches which the God and goddess was on the branches surrounded all by the Gods.
This is the image which I talked about the God and goddess. This statue is built in a way of aesthetic and my best part from the Taa Dzong was this statue. I am very grateful to our life science teacher and also lucky because I was able to visit this and have blessing from that. We circulated that statue for at least three times and went to visit other things in another floor.
My highlights from the Taa Dzong were when we were visiting the jewels and the money which was used in the past. I was very happy because I got to see the jewels which was used by the lady in olden days, I got to see the money and the money were all colorful and aesthetic. Some of the money was looking like the sticker which we use now to play or stick in our book.
I enjoyed a lot and learnt many new things and I am very happy that I was able to see the things of the past and able to see the important statue of God and goddess. At the same time I was able to learn the importance of museum and able to know why we should preserve our culture and the things of the past.
THANK YOU
